Thai Familex rice is rice with long, large grains of medium hardness and low brittleness, so that the individual grains are kept whole and not boiled. It is white in color and turns snow white when cooked without sticking. These properties make it ideal for various garnishes. It can also be steamed.
Rice Thai has a subtle and distinctive aroma, as well as a light, nutty flavor that complements the flavor of other ingredients in Thai dishes. When cooked, the rice becomes slightly sticky and easy to shape into rice balls and to make dishes like pad thai and khao pad (fried rice).
